Rhinoshield Pig Vaccine

For use in healthy swine as an aid in the prevention of atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica or the toxin of Pasteurella multocida types A & D, erysipelas and pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida Type A. Administer a 5 ml dose to sows and gilts at 5 and 2 weeks prior to farrowing. Piglets receive a 1 ml dose at 7-10 days followed by a 2 ml dose 2 weeks later.

Description

For use in healthy swine as an aid in the prevention of Atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica or the toxin of Pasteurella multocida types A and D, Erysipelas caused by E. rhusiopathiae and Pneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida type A.

Dosage: IM or subcut. Four doses must be given (two gilt/sow doses and two piglet doses). Gilts and sows – 5 ml at 5 and 2 weeks prior to farrowing. Piglets from vaccinated dams – 1 ml at 7-10 days of age followed by a 2 ml dose 2 weeks later. 21 day slaughter withdrawal.

Directions For Use

Shake well before using. Administer intramuscularly or subcutaneously. Four doses must be given (two gilt/sow doses during pregnancy and two piglet doses). Vaccinate gilts and sows with a 5 mL dose at 5 and 2 weeks prior to farrowing. Vaccinate piglets from vaccinated dams with a 1 mL dose at 7 to 10 days of age and a 2 mL dose 2 weeks later. The need for annual booster vaccinations has not been established for this product; consultation with a veterinarian is recommended. For advice on revaccination frequency, in general or in the face of maternal antibody, stress, or a disease exposure, consultation with a veterinarian is recommended.

Precautions

Store out of direct sunlight at 2 to 8°C (35° to 46°F). DO NOT FREEZE. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days prior to slaughter. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. Anaphylactic reactions may occur. Symptomatic treatment: Epinephrine.
