MSD Animal Health, today announced the launch of PORCILIS® Ery+Parvo+Lepto vaccine, a new, triple-action vaccine with broad protection against three of the most significant diseases affecting swine reproductive health, which are Erysipelas, Porcine Parvovirus and Leptospirosis. The vaccine, which is the only one that offers up to 12 months of proven immunity for sows and gilts and the broadest protection against Leptospirosis, is the latest innovation in the company’s portfolio for swine vaccination.
The new, easy-to-use PORCILIS® Ery+Parvo+Lepto vaccine allows farmers and producers to effectively deliver three vaccines in a single injection simultaneously and can be used for mass vaccination and during pregnancy. It can be used as a preventative alternative against Leptospirosis and Erysipelas infections, highly contagious diseases affecting swine.
A vaccine for the active immunisation of sows and gilts as an aid in the control of swine erysipelas, for the protection of embryos and foetuses against porcine parvovirus infection and for the reduction of infection caused by Leptospira serovars. Porcilis Ery+Parvo+Lepto is an inactivated vaccine containing Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae antigen, serotype 2 (strain M2), Porcine parvovirus strain 014), Leptospira interrogans serogroup Canicola serovar Portland-Vere (strain Ca-12-00), Leptospira interrogans serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovars Copenhageni (strain lc-02-001), Leptospira interrogans serogroup Australis serovars Bratislava (strain As-05-073), Leptospira kirschneri serogroup Grippotyphosa serovars Dadas (strain Gr-01-005), Leptospira interrogans serogroup Pomona serovar Pomona (strain Po-01-000) and Leptospira santarosai serogroup Tarrasovi serovars Gatuni (strain S1148/02).
The vaccine contains 150 mg dl-α tocopherol per dose. For the active immunisation of sows and gilts as an aid in the control of swine erysipelas, for the protection of embryos and foetuses against porcine parvovirus infection and for the reduction of infection caused by Leptospirosis serovars. Features of Parvo Lepto Vaccine For Swine
For use as an aid in the prevention of porcine Parvovirus, Erysipelas and the 5 most common strains of Lepto. Dosage: Inject 5 ml IM to sows and gilts 4-6 weeks prior to breeding and in 3-4 weeks. Revaccinate with a single dose 4-6 weeks prior to subsequent breedings. Vaccinate boars semi-annually. 21 day slaughter withdrawal. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur. Antidote : Epinephrine.
