Burdizzo Bloodless Castrator: Bloodless castration is generally accomplished by using an emasculatome or elastic band. When using an emasculatome, the scrotum remains intact while the spermatic cord of each testicle (within the scrotum) is placed in the jaws of the tool and crushed. The bloodless castrator crushes the testicular cord trhough the scrotum skin. You must proceed by crushing one testicular cord at time, and make two crushes at 1-2 cm (1/2″ – 3-4″) apart .The Burdizzo is a castration device which employs a large clamp designed to break the blood vessels leading into the testicles. Once the blood supply to the testicles is lost, testicular necrosis occurs, and the testicles shrink, soften, and eventually deteriorate completely.
